Finally, A Smarter Way to Open Franchise Locations: Location Launcher v2
Seven new capabilities in Location Launcher v2, built to handle the complexity that grows with every new type of location you open.
Spreadsheets, email chains, and generic project management tools were not built for the operational complexity of opening franchise locations. Managing pre-opening tasks across legal, construction, marketing, staffing, and training, with dependencies that shift based on progress, location type, and geography, requires something purpose-built.
Location Launcher v2 is the result of working through hundreds of franchise openings with our customers and building for the complexity they actually encounter.
What Is New in v2
1. Multiple Board Support
Different location types require different opening processes. A mall kiosk opens differently from a full-service restaurant. A location in a state with specific health code requirements follows a different sequence than one in a permissive market. An ownership transfer follows none of the same steps as a new build.
Multiple Board Support lets you create distinct opening playbooks for each type, managed in one place. As your system grows, new location types get their own board without disrupting existing processes.
2. Enhanced Dependencies and Triggers
Task sequencing in an opening is conditional: marketing tasks trigger after the lease is signed, equipment ordering begins when the floor plan is approved, staff hiring starts at the right construction milestone. v2 lets you encode those conditions directly, so tasks appear and notify the right person automatically, based on what has already been completed.
3. Custom and Ad Hoc Tasks
Every location has something the playbook did not anticipate. Hurricane preparedness in Miami, snow removal equipment in Chicago, a landlord requirement unique to one building. Custom task support lets you add location-specific requirements to any opening without touching the standard playbook.
4. Smart Task Categorization
Opening tasks span legal, marketing, operations, and HR. Smart categorization automatically organizes tasks by department based on patterns across thousands of franchise openings, giving each team a view of only their work, without the noise of the full board.
5. Centralized Document Management
Opening documents (lease agreements, permits, floor plans, vendor contracts) are scattered across email threads and shared drives in most franchise systems. v2 creates a structured repository for all opening-related documents, organized by location and category, searchable from anywhere.
6. Personal Task Dashboard
Team members working across multiple openings simultaneously need a single view of their responsibilities across all locations, prioritized by deadline and dependency. The personal task dashboard eliminates the need to check each location board separately.
7. Enhanced Visibility
The redesigned interface gives operations leaders an at-a-glance status of the entire opening pipeline: which locations are on track, where the bottlenecks are, and which systematic issues are slowing every opening. The goal is to surface problems before they become delays.
Who This Is Built For
Location Launcher v2 is designed for franchise systems opening their fifth through five-hundredth location: brands past the 'figure it out as you go' stage, working to turn the opening process from a one-time scramble into a repeatable system.
